This looks like intentional calibration of damage, different countries get different levels

So it's not just a frenzy of missiles from Iran with no plan

Yet Pakistan is somehow a mouthpiece for Saudi interests, or someone else.

The reality is everyone is calibrating with everyone else, and say what you want but the facts remains Saudi is and has been a very important country for Pakistan, so is Iran, that valid position of having important stakes in both countries should not only be respected, it should be valued a lot more

It is and always was a checkpoint to assess the other side, and what sort of cards they might be trying to play or appetite for concessions, that might lead to a resolution

It could completely collapse and we are back to two weeks ago, with the Americans doubling down on their threats of crazy escalation.



The important win is this is a terms of reference, that hurdle of coming to the table has been overcome, so if not now maybe the second time.

Hopefully diplomats are exploring imaginative solutions, the Americans at least seem more likely to accept
