This is not good for Iran's reputation or image..since it is imposing a blockade on the whole world's economy..while the US is imposing a blockade only on Iran!

Blame it on the US for killing their leader. If this had happened on Trump/Nethanyahu, I wouldn't expect them to welcome Iran with garlands and flowers.

Trump is a businessman, he can make a good deal. He doesn't want war, iran should engage in realistic negotiations. Those who repeatedly spout such nonsense and continue to make wrong predictions should be ashamed of their ignorance. Trump's words are nothing but lies and threats. Engaging in negotiations is a mistake in itself. Because Iran agreed to negotiations, it has been repeatedly tricked and is now on the brink of surrender with a one-sided naval blockade. It's time to admit that trying to negotiate with a beast is the wrong way to go.
Trump is a pre-mature fetus basta*d.

Do not insult businessmen by calling him one! We don’t kill or pull the grounds from beneath others in order to make riches. That’s plain robbery

Regarding this that you said - "We could settle some nasty scores on behalf of billions of people."- well, one can argue your best chance was to join in when iran was fighting against US and Israel for 40 days.

Well, Pakistan's perennial pan-Islamist Mr. Zaid Hamid would agree with you on this. People have been wondering where he stands and here is he.

Apparently European stockpile of Jet Fuel is due to run out in couple of months, unless the SoH is opened immediately, mass cancellations and economies down the gutter - all thanks to literally two individuals. You couldn't make this up.

This is the worst war since the Second World War.

Until either Argachi, Qalibaf, or Mohsen Rezai or another high ranking Iranian official denies they will attend talks on Tuesday, you have to assume they will attend.
This is all negotiation tactics and pressure tactics by the US to secure a deal before clock strikes midnight. Now, the U.S. might conclude it cannot pressure Iran to accept the type of deal Trump wants. In that case it will be war.
But I would be surprised if Iran doesn’t at least go to Pakistan to stall even if that’s the case.

In my conspiracy mode: If the Iranians don't even attend the upcoming Islamabad Talks starting about 36+ hours from now then the Iranians know they hold too many cards to just accept a ceasefire. They would want some Grand Bargain involving the entire Middle East--and they should. Or-- and that's where the conspiracy mode gets really wild: The three-day stay of the Pakistani Army Chief General Munir is leading Iran to a very hard line in this conflict. I don't think the Americans can trust the Pakistanis! The trust bridges were burned.

47 years ago, the new system in Iran made a shocking mistake by allowing an attack by a bunch of hot-headed revolutionary students on the US embassy in Tehran and taking their diplomats hostage for 444 days.

When you go down that path, when you hold a country's diplomats hostage for 444 days, a country that has been consistently the world's most powerful country since World War II, you have already chosen your fate. Now you either accept it and fight back, or you surrender. There is no middle ground.

Some fools in Iran are still looking for some situation where they can get away with what they did. It's too late for that. It became too late for that right after the US asked us to return their diplomats and Khomeini said no.

Either Iran wins this war, or it loses this war. No negotiations can resolve the feud between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America. A non-nuclear Iran will fall or has to surrender unconditionally, maybe this month, a couple of months later, or a few years from today at most.

@baqai, why am I being reprimanded because of this sellout (@Persian Gulf)? He is fucking obsessed with my posts. This sellout spent his entire time covering, obfuscating facts, and kept putting his thumb on the scale in favor of the child-killing cowards during and after the June war.
Calm down bro. It's a stressful time for everyone.

Slow moving drones doesn’t seem to be anywhere near Retaliation against a fully armed ship with it’s own defense plus other ships and airpower around it

As I tried to point toward this: Before this war on Iran was launched, the 'negotiations' in Oman were almost done and successful because Iran was willing to give up a lot more than what was given up during JCPOA, short of Iran's long range missles. Basically, Iran was trying to avoid a war and ride it out till Trump leaves the office. But, of course, Netanyahu is too smart to fall for that when the best Israeli stooge like Trump is in office. And hence this war.
Going forward.... if Iran would give similar concessions, as Iran was about to give during the Oman negotiations then that would not be too drastic except now Iran has gained the strategic dominance due to the Strait/global economy and due to Iran's resilience.
There is nothing left in Trump/Netanyahu arsenals except to do a Dresden style carpet bombing of Iran and/or dropping multiple nukes to make Iran to capitulate.

I suppose there are still parts of the Islamic republic system that haven't gone full retarded and understand that as soon as their nuclear stockpile is out of Iran, it's over for them. The clock will start ticking for their demise.

So, it's not about some Grand Bargain, but rather their instinct for survival. They have had plenty of examples to learn from throughout the years. Saddam, Ghaddafi, even Bashar al-Assad after he destroyed his chemical weapons, etc.

You can see two different paths that the enemies of the US have taken. The path of people like Saddam, Ghaddafi and Assad, and the path of Kim Jung Un. And you can see which path failed and which one succeeded.

You either build a nuke or you don't. The Fatwa was stupid. Iran has no credible path left to build a nuke under its circumstances which would reliably reach all the way to Israel. And I dare say, neither does Pakistan unless Pakistan's nuclear capable missiles are well protected and much closer to Israel then they are now in Pakistan.

Reliably reaching Israel is the easiest part of it. It already exists. It has existed for more than a decade. Acquiring fissile material in the metal form is the bottleneck at the moment.

From what I can tell, Iran has not been able to as much damage to Israel in this conflict of 40 days as was done in the June 2025's 12 day war. Israelis were well prepared this time.
Even Pakistan, if it starts a nuclear posture against Israel, would see the Israelis+Americans+Indians activated at once.
