It is always a fool's errand to predict future prices. However, 3 years back, WTI was above $100 for over 4 months. How many even remember that? I don't see major impact beyond small general inflation. People will economize by avoiding wastage. Oil remaining above $100 for a long time, say a few years, is an excellent training to force society to think about life when oil runs out, which it must.

I don't know. I remember WTI price went negative for a couple of days during the covid because there was a huge drop in oil consumption worldwide after the pandemic hit the planet. I don't remember lasting high oil prices since the US invasion of Iraq.

If oil prices remain high, that means higher energy prices. That means uncontrolled inflation. Impact of energy inflation is never small. It hits every sector of the economy really hard, and its impact will last for years.

Weird wrinkled lips that exposes her inner rage when she listens to others speak, she looks like she's always about to cry because of her unresolved anger. She's a disbarred lawyer in Canada, apparently. I wonder what she did that cost her her license.
 
Amid reports about Iran’s plan to make a fresh proposal, US President Donald Trump on Wednesday rejected an Iranian offer to end the conflict, saying that the naval blockade would remain till Tehran agreed to a nuclear deal.

The US president told Axios that the blockade was “somewhat more effective than the bombing” and things would get “worse for them”.

They think they can blockade Iran longer than Iran can blockade the world

Who does this hurt more ? Iran has lived under sanctions for 47 years they can take the pain

But the world economy cannot survive with the straits of Hormuz closed 

Iran has opened up its land borders and is trading now with road and railway 

Also  according to open source tracking 58 ships have left Iran after the blockade for China

Clearly China is trading with Iran they also happen to be the biggest trading partner

So Iran is likely to survive longer

The deal was likely: Yemenis will not close BabAlMandab so Saudis can export oil, in return Iran can get goods via Pakistan.
