Trump was asked why he didn't authorise a special ops mission to retrieve Iran's uranium

he says Iran is not like Venezuela, the operation would take 1-2 weeks, and he didn't want to end up humiliated like Jimmy Carter

Such news is designed to calm the crude market. In the past, the crude price was managed through Trump's endless tweets of negotiation and constant claims that they were about to sign a deal.

Iran preempted that by suspending the negotiations that did not produce any results, especially since Satanyahu is always vetoing every time a deal is reportedly close.

So the new gimmick is the US navy is escorting oil tankers out of the Strait of Hormuz. The reality is, Iran has, at this point, a firm control on the Strait of Hormuz, and whatever Trump is reporting now is a hot air.

Iranians are bargaining hard and that's good. Some of the existing leverage like Hormuz and drones won't be available a few years from now as countries build alternatives and defenses. Iran needs to demand a non-aggression pact with the US.

"Gharibabadi also said lifting all unilateral US sanctions, including primary and secondary sanctions, and normalizing Iran’s status at the UN Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency’s Board of Governors are among Tehran’s key demands."

What is Iran requesting here? A veto power? Can people elaborate on what Gharibabadi has alluded to here?

The war is over, guys. I said it two days ago and say it again. That Trump even pressured Israel into not attacking the Dahiya neighborhood of Beirut was yet another sign that Trump wants out and out asap.
All those theories about the April ceasefire as a smokescreen for Israel and America to replenish and all those theories about the Blockade going to cripple Iran within a few weeks/months have been proven wrong. There is not even one single credible analyst left, whether on Left or Right, who'd advocate for another frontal assault on Iran like what happened starting Feb. 28 this year.
Going forward: Lebanon is the key and Iran's redline. The rest are bargaining chips for both sides.

"🔺 Mohsen Rezaei, military adviser to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei and former IRGC commander-in-chief, told CNN in an interview in Tehran:

▪️ “The negotiations are at a deadlock and Trump must break this deadlock. The ball is in Trump’s court”

▪️ Iran demanding $12B in frozen assets released immediately upon signing an interim deal, another $12B in a subsequent phase

▪️ Ruled out a Khamenei-Trump meeting: “This will not happen”

▪️ If U.S. resumes conflict, Iran will “expand the war beyond the Persian Gulf” to the Indian Ocean, Red Sea, and Mediterranean

▪️ Iran and Oman will jointly manage the Strait of Hormuz and charge a maintenance fee

▪️ Warned U.S.-Israel against ground war/invasion. “Our land power is many times greater than our missiles”

Probably the smartest decision he made during the war. The soldiers would have 100% suffered casualties, if not outright capture.

Forget Iran becoming a UNSC Perm. member, not even India is able to. But there are some UNSC sanctions on Iran which Iran wants lifted. When they lift then Iran would have more freedom to deal with nations. The unilateral American sanctions on Iran would require Congressional approval and are a different matter.

Bro, "normalizing Iran’s status at the UN Security Council" is what led me to believe Iran's may be asking more than lifting the UNSC sanctions. And with the reported Iran's threat to test a nuclear device plus their chokehold on 25% of oil markets, Iran could be demanding more than lifting the UNSC sanctions. We'll see how it develops!

It is ridiculous. He authorized a land operation inside Irán... And he failed miserably.

Doesn't matter if It is for retrieving uranium or a downed pilot. But whatever the reason was, they failed.

The only explanation of such ominous lie it is that he is trying to separate himself from all presidents that failed to engage diplomatically or militarily against Irán, but he ultimately failed on both ways, diplomatically and militarily.

Is this the future? Sneaking ships through?...
No... manufacturing consent... they know that a new normal has to be established because Iran isn't going anywhere... no flow of ships can be sustained by sneaking them in and out of the straits.
So, this is plain and simple propaganda... and once a path is established it wouldn't need placements. Second, Oman will stay out of anything as much as possible... in facf outside of Emirates no one is truly seeking a rerun.

There are no guarantees... pact or no pact... another Orange clown and toss another JCPOA!
Only hard facts and actions can prove one way or the other...
And that means no more bases in the Gulf or within a certain distance of Iran...
While the technology is changing and you can see someone coming from a mile away... distance still matters...
The paper creates false sense of complacency... in case of US each administration makes a point in undoing what the predecessor did... as a form of electoral issue to sway the voter.
Will never work in US form of government... where even written laws are bent... and their prima facie reinterpreted to the prevailing winds.
