If the US were to go "all in", it can do so conventionally. With the result being what you consider "all in" now look like a bathroom remodel.

I think you are implying carpet bombing using the heavy bombers. I don't think that will be as easy as bombing the toothless countries like Venezuela. Iran does have at least some air defenses to shoot down the jets once they come into the Iranian airspace and with jets downed, come risks, including the crew captured: A repeat of what Carter faced. Watch the Alastair Crooke video I posted yesterday: It would be Trump's biggest nightmare.
On top of the risks of the jets shooting down, there will be a huge PR issue plus Iran is almost certain to bring down the local countries' infra and that will have global consequences, including for the American economy, plus who knows what kind of missiles Iran is saving for the one last go at Israel. Add in the Yemen chokehold of the trade via the Red Sea...

The response for the American attacks was weak because there will be one more battle to come and Iran is waiting and preparing for that battle.

It will most likely happen after the world cup is done, and it will be for the Battle of the Straits of Hormuz. The USA wants to try and remove Iran's military hold on the straits and therefore remove that from the negotiations "in order to get a better deal than Obama's". You only have to look at the location of strikes to know that the Americans are trying to soften up Iran's military infrastructure along the straits.

The Americans are trying to henpeck this infrastructure under the guise of a ceasefire and "retaliatory strikes".

Look at where the Americans attacked to see their focus.



I guess it is up to Iran to determine how best to respond, it is a shame for Iran that it cannot sink USN ships as that would be the ultimate deterrence esp. if they can hit an A/C.

Not sure what's happened to their anti ship supersonic missiles.

That battle will never arrive. Because USA and Israel realized it now that they can't win in a full out war from Iran. So instead they will keep dragging Iran in these small scale attacks. Whatever little capabilities Iran try to develop in months, they will target them in a single day. What Iran need is a detailed, planned, and large scale offensive against Israel and left out American bases in Jordan, UAE and Kuwait.

But is the status quo in favor of Iran ? No. Because there is a naval blockade. And Israel is grabbing land of Lebanon like there is no tomorrow. While both these countries are regularly destroying iran's military and economic infrastructure.

What Iran need is to end this war once and for all. And only a decisive full scale attack by Iran will achieve that. Currently USA is not in any pressure to end the hostilities. It can keep dragging Iran in this war while restocking the supplies

The issue for Iran is erosion of their defence and depletion of their missiles and drones. Add the redsea is shipping lots of oil via SA to Europe so pressure is lifting.

Iran may need to revist their strategy.

Except the Strait will remain just as vulnerable from the Iranian drones and missiles from well within the interior of Iran.
The Strait is now within any regional country's grasp to shut it down--even Pakistan's given Pakistan's proximity. No sea captain will dare to take his ship through potential missiles sinking his ship until safety is guaranteed.
