Excellent questions. If the US was succeeding in its strategy to blockade and strangle Iran, why break the ceasefire ?

I have a good feeling Iran will absorb these hits, inflict some of it's own and the overall strategic situation will not change. The US will have to compromise in the end.

Iran was trying to find a solution to the war but Trump's ego is too big and he is too compromised. Geography means Iran can mine the Strait at anytime despite American attacks. I think that option will be pursued now after the blockade, Gcc smuggling and now the attacks.

we can still mine the strait with rocket fired mines, in theory

it seems the strikes will last for hours and include many targets

lets see how the dust settles and if IRGC can surprise us and fire more than 20 missiles and stop targeting empty airbases
