What 'upfront concessions' could not be reversed by Iran? The Strait could be closed within minutes again some months / years later. The HEU could be made again because the knowledge and the infra remains in Iran. The missile program is not even on the table--which was the deal breaker for the Oman Talks just before this war.

I do not see Iran giving over HEU to a 3rd country this time. They will down blend, or leave it buried for now. As you say, Iran is negotiating on the basis that the USA cannot be trusted and will backtrack.

Is there a possibility that Iran does a symbolic transfer of a "small amount" for Trump to get his optics in return for full permanent sanctions removal? The SL has said no so far, but full sanctions removal is a prize worth pursuing over "principle"(/ego). For Iran to decide of course.

The problem is that both of these courses of action require time in order to create their desires effect.

In the case of closing the Strait, most commentary suggests that Trump's admin genuinely did not think Iran would do it. That's down to stupidity on their side (it's been war-games endlessly by the US military), but next time you can bet the Americans will be a bit more ready. And Iran would again need to wait months in order for the cost of closure to be felt at the pumps.

Iran is in an absolutely unique position right now in terms of timing, and should not squander the opportunity.

Iran should use this opportunity to get all sanctions removed, once and for all. That would be a fantastic outcome for Iran.

There seems disagreement between Pepe and the Iranian guy (sorry, I don't know his name yet) about there is a final sign off on any agreement from Iran's Supreme Leader. The Iranian is saying he has confirmation about an agreement from Iranian sources and from a certain Pakistani (obviously referring to Asim Munir). Larry is pointing toward the 'centrality' of Pakistan's role in all this though Pakistan is not in the spotlight; per Larry, Pakistan has a nuclear umbrella for Turkey and Saudi Arabia. The panel seem to agree upon Russia and China, working through Pakistan, working on a security arrangement involving Iran, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Iran should use this opportunity to get all sanctions removed, once and for all. That would be a fantastic outcome for Iran.

Anyway, it is relevant with the topic of this thread only as much as the claims of a planeload of cash being taken to Tehran, with further claims it will be use to buy out some people, only to end up back in the US financial system again.

Which is all utter speculation and thus useless. But, then again, nothing is too complicated for a conspiracy theory to explain away so blithely.

so within 12 months close to $170 billion in income for Iran

that should cover the war reparations US and Israel have to pay

on top of that all trade and assets will be unfrozen and Access to international banking SWIFT to trade with more nations
