Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

Pakistan has once again become uncle Sam’s bag carrier in South Asia.

India had the opportunity but chanakya strategy has ruined it.

India has resumed its Cold War missionary posture.
I was told India would be clearing the US from the Indian Ocean. Was that person wrong?

I wouldn't refer to Pakistan as Uncle Sam's bag carrier. Pakistan understands the western mindset as well as they do the Asian.

And so should Bangladesh for that matter.

Sanctions relief is not meaningless, it’s one of the greatest concessions Iran could get out of this while conflict. Since WW2, the use of sanctions have been the key tool to slowly kill off adversarial regimes.

If Iran is able to earn, without restriction, they can execute on their $400 billion oil/gas development plan with China, and can then spend on whatever they deem they need.

Either way, the world, by and large hopes the news is true.

And for Pakistan’s sake, I hope this is not just an altruistic move, but one where Pakistan has made side agreements with Iran for the IPI pipeline to resume, at Iran’s expense, so Pakistan doesn’t face any sanctions once Trump leaves office, and Pakistan can buy discounted oil and gas.

For being potentially decisive in ending the war, I also hope Pakistan has gotten commitments to a modernization of a sizable portion of the Pakistan military to help protect the GCC, AND to gain back the support of local populations, via a military modernization and new force posture, as most of the GCC pivots (basically minus UAE) to trying to resolve the Palestinian issue, and not let Iran appear to have been the deciding factor.

Also, considering the impact on Iranians in the UAE, I hope Pakistan markets Gwadar as the international port Iranians can invest in, just outside Iran, to sustain economic activity, when not if, some threat of sanctions are sought to be put back upon them.

This war has to be the moment Pakistan markets itself, and especially Gwadar as the “Venice of the East” on the Silk Road, a true destination for trade and defense for all. Where cargo ships from the GCC AND Iran can be built and fly the flag of Pakistan and be protected by a robust and sizable Pakistan navy, as one of the major “net security providers” in the Arabian Sea if not the whole Indian Ocean.

This is also Pakistan’s moment, this is also Gwadar’s potential moment.

Just calm down a bit. Iran is no Afghanistan/India but its not exactly friendly to Pakistan despite huge number of fanboys they have in Pakistan and huge shia population.

I'll wait and see. Ideally sanction free Iran and friendly relations along with trade could be huge boom for Pakistan economy. Hopefully China can convince Iranian mullahs to lay off anti-sunni drugs.

RAV4 hybrid!

I've rented several. If I were ever to purchase such a vehicle, as a current owner of two Toyota Tacomas, a RAV4 hybrid would be my SUV of choice.

I'm thinking about going hybrid for my next upgrade. I currently own a 2019 RDX and Acura is expected to release their updated hybrid trim for the 2028 model year. It will be time for my upgrade.

So the sanctions are not lifted?

We need to wait for the full details to be able to see what is included in the first steps, and how progress will be measured by both sides.

Of course.

We need to sign the deal to see what's in the deal.

If those degenerate cuckolds are angry, that means the world is healing.

As a side note, Israel has already indicated that they would abide by the deal.

Me thinks that Trump will likely not involve US forces after the signing, if Iran decides to bomb Israel again.

Trump should withdraw the bulk off his forces to take that option of further USA involvement in future operations off the table for Israel..

I think it all depends on what will happen from hereafter.

I am sort of optimistic. At least our people can get some temporary relief from being under crushing economic conditions. Even if it lasts 3 months, it's better than nothing.

And you are right. Our missiles are not capable of enforcing our red lines in Israel. We need to work on alternative solutions instead of relying on missiles and militias. There's a good chance that Hezbollah will not survive in a year or two.
I disagree about Hezbollah, I think we learned that these groups are extremely resilient. Look at what Hezbollah suffered already in 2024. 500 airstrikes in 30 minutes, total carpet bombing of every village in the south, loss of their leader and entire leadership, humiliation of pagers explosion, active collaboration between Lebanon, Israel, and USA to destroy Hezbollah, and somehow (thanks in part to IRGC) they emerged somewhat stronger in 2025, and surprised Israel again.

Some of my current thoughts:

- Netanyahu will not agree to a full ceasefire in Lebanon, and will continue to push his luck. It is close to the elections, and he cannot be seen as weak, even if it means pissing off Trump. It will be difficult for Iran to navigate this scenario, and it will remain volatile.

- the 60 days will not lead to a final agreement, since the redlines remain too far apart. this MOU sidesteps the most difficult issues (status of enrichment, etc).

- Iran will not see real sanctions relief. but will have some access to frozen reserves, and de facto relief on oil exports to China.
