Thats not the reason people dislike this fitna, real reason is Jewlani was raised by the WEST to only kill the muslims and to be a savior of Israel, he never fights Israel, but will fight everyone who is a threat to Israel. From what Iranian officials have said, the relationship is based purely on money and bribes. Basically, if Iranians pay up, Jolani's men will keep the borders open. In fact, one official has said that the situation might even be better now than in the past (which I think speaks to how much of a liability Assad had become by the end).
