Iran seems to have an abundance of shorter range missiles and drones and they are more accurate than the longer range ones. And that has made any attacks on Iran from nearby very risky and the attacks from a good distance are not easy. So Iran has gained strategic strength by destroying or credibly threatening American bases in Iran's vicinity.

I just had a thought. Why is it that all these radical islamist groups that have popped up since the war on terror have all been focused on predominately killing other muslims. How come not a single one of them have ever done anything for the palestinians, they sent foreign jihadis to yugoslavia during the bosnian genocide yet not a single ounce of support for the occupied people of palestine. Palestinians prefer every nasty character over Iran. Saddam (famously), Erdogan, Saudi, even UAE until very recently.
