I remember at the time I was on the verge of a breakdown in disbelief. Even thinking about the incompetence now makes me angry!

It is not incompetence Mr. Persian Gulf.
You cannot deploy in the Middle of nowhere SAM systems and their operators and protection in every part of Irán.
If suddenly flying very low profile some aircrafts enters in New México or Texas something similar would happen to US.
They were deployed in sensitive áreas and close to military targets.
The reality of that operation was a complete failure. Even if they can enter easily the fact It is their never left intouched. They lost more than half of the bests US aircrafts.
At much you can deploy some MANPADS or some trucks with 359. But you can't cover completely all country in real time.

It's better if they send soldiers within reach of missiles and drones. Iran should welcome them, lure them into a quagmire far from their Homeland.

Esfahan is in the centre of Iran not in the border somewhere

Dozens of people saw these planes and helicopters and even shot at them with pistols, so why can’t small manpad crews do the same?

Let's be abundantly clear, we can agree or disagree with official statements. And regardless how anyone here feels, there are nation-states with leaders and agreements and a better handle on situations than people on a defence e forum.

So regardless how we may feel about certain statements, we just have to learn to accept that people will say things that we like, dislike, agree with, disagree with.

As for "inventing realities" it's politics. Yemeni govt themselves deny Saudi bombardment. 🤷‍♂️

Such is the nature of things.

Hitting a large, slowish moving tanker or large cargo ship at 10 km off your coast is one thing. Hitting a warship that has cutting edge interceptors to defend itself away from your coast is another thing.

Iran can hit the former and not the later. Otherwise in a war, you never discount weapons of the enemy by assuming that oh we are letting them fire upon at us and we are not hitting it deliberately. The warship is not a large group of US civilians in a cruise ship. Those are enemy soldiers who are firing missiles at Iran. The US even kills your civilians and even children at school. You don't hit even their military equipment which is hitting you? i.e WARSHIP ? It makes ZERO logic. Point is Iran do not have a navy or airforce to acomplish this task. Hitting warships with coastal missiles alone is very difficult. Iran would hit it if it gets the means to do it.

I don't know. Considering the fact that our decision makers have so far shown no stomach for killing American soldiers, I don't think that's a good thing to happen.

Except it was caught on video and was clearly Storm Shadow cruise missiles, and the Aden regime has no air force

I understand Pakistan has a defence treaty with KSA, which is good for both parties, but others can still express our opinion about a Pakistani statement when it does not reflect reality, even if we deeply appreciate Pakistan in other arenas

For as long as Pakistan cannot break the begging bowl(cheap loans, IMF bailouts, and "foreign remittances") and fixes its own local economy with real organic growth, it's chain will always be yanked by its masters ( hard on the nose for Pakistani's but true ). I would ignore his statement, I am sure Iranian leadership did, they know the deal.

How about this I don’t know if Cyprus reports nighttime training but if there’s unusual activity there it’s a guaranteed red flag
