Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

I am not at all surprised by Iran's counterattack. Ukraine launched a surprise attack from deep within Russia's rear. Why does Iran insist on fighting back on its own soil? What about the channels you've been operating for years? Iraq? Yemen? Lebanon?

The U.S. struck Iranian army (not IRGC) barracks in Bampur, causing a total massacre

Dozens of conscripts were killed in this attack

It is difficult to understand why they are living in military buildings during wartime like no war has started.

Iran launched a missile strike against a US base in Jordan and an oil facility in Bahrain. The type of missiles used by Iran has not been disclosed. Footage also shows American Patriot air defense systems in action. It is worth noting that the US is currently also striking Iranian targets.

I know, but the cowards/terrorists are hiding in hotels and such places, we've hit many targets and destroyed a lot of equipment, which is important, but when terrorists empty their bases, escape from war, it's not easy to kill them.
How are they operating all these fuel tankers near us then? Who operates HIMARS?

My dear brother, this is a real misconception people have.

1. Afghanistan and Vietnam were occupations where the United States had boots on the ground and were actively engaged in Nation building experiments.

2. the type of warfare between Iran and US/Israel etc is Asymmetric, including economic blockades and pressure through regional networks/allies from either side. In Afghanistan and Vietnam the US were engaged in sustained deployments of ground troops seeking to gain control territory and defeat local insurgencies.

In Iran the U.S. relies heavily on aerial bombardment, cyber warfare, sanctions and diplomatic pressure.

3. In Afghanistan the US were fighting the Taliban that were a highly decentralized non-state insurgency that relied on guerilla warfare, Iran conversely is a country with sophisticated military and a vast arsenal of ballistic missiles, drones and conventional weapons presenting a different strategic challenge.

4. Whilst in Vietnam the US occupied that land for over 10 years to install and protect allied governments, in the case of Iran, the US objectives have been containment, pressure and neutralizing what they deem as threats.

Like I said, apples and oranges.

Some light reading for you:

You just highlight US’ advantages.

US is massively reliant on the petro dollar.

Iran’s strategy is to destroy the gulf stooges - who are the lynch pin of the petro dollar.

Iranians are educated and understand the consequences of the petro dollar.

It’s their Death Star.

Any other Muslim country fighting an asymmetric war - I would have no hope.

E.g. if it was Bangladesh our military would have already bent over backwards and taken the money.

This is the real question right now, will the Iranians accept a new ceasefire proposal, or are they determined to break out of this cycle of start/stop war that Trump is keen on. How does Iran take control, and dictate the tempo going forward? Question for Iranian strategists.

Something has to change in this cycle ...

How does Iran force the USA to be honest with its commitments and fulfill them ?

The answer is simple...
Negotiate what?

If he drops sanctions and unfreezes funds... starts pulling out troops. There is no war!

Any details can be worked out after the fact. What he wants is to drag it down and milk it again for his own benefit. There is nothing to talk about....
It was an unprovoked attack that killed innocent people... women and children. The leadership along with their families... he came on the other side of largest ever funeral in the history of mankind... something if orange sought infamy will keep his name dragged for eternity...Mileikowsky already held such for himself.

Iran doesn’t benefit from escalation.

Iran benefits from attrition.

Endless war crimes by the terrorist U.S. regime

The US especially under trump play dirty, Iran needs to stop acting like a gentleman and need to get real, trump only understands extreme force. If Iran cant fulfill its aim militarily its better to accept trumps terms, there is no grey now its either white or black.

From the beginning I said Iran needs to time out Trump by managing the escalation ladder.

So, yes, they should go and negotiate but not concede on anything. Stretch it out as long as possible.

Iran needs to call Islamabad.

The Pakistani delegation is crucial to Iran stretching this out.

Whilst I was banned I saw some idiots mock Pakistan’s negotiating role!!!

I was itching to call them idiots!!

Although this will no doubt upset @Musings 🤣

Trump is the last of the Epstein presidents.

Future presidents won’t be as pliant.

I recall you were also one of those who were mocking Pakistans role. Good to see you’ve mend your views to reality

NO, I am telling you the historically documented difference and inaccuracy of comparing the Iran war to the War in Afghanistan.

Ofcourse it’s not exactly the same.

But there are parallels.

US just doesn’t have the stomach for wars.

Especially the ones of choice.
