The US lost round 1 - achieved pretty much nothing of its original objectives.
Round 2 is about wresting control of the SOH and having it open toll free - I can see a loss in round 2 as well, unless they commit tens thousands of ground troops.

Bro to target moving cargo vessel in the sea the nearer the better. A drone or missile on your southern coast can hit a ship way faster than if it's launched from Tehran.
All of that is possible with your military infrastructure on Iran,s southern coast. That's why they are specifically targeting that area.
By now a ground invasion should have been happened if that was a choice for them to consider. They are not stupid to send their soldiers in a meat grinder.

You're not targeting a military aircraft. Most of these tankers are so slow that we can target them even from Russia or Afghanistan.
Nope, the targets are quite specific and for softening our defenses in the south.

This is just posturing. There is no way in military science that the US can wrestle control of hormuz from iran. Simple logic. One side has to simply harrass ships, the other side needs to guarantee full safety of the entire persian gulf. Good luck with that.. This seems to go over many people's heads. What I do want soon is mandab closed too and Iran's threat of 'no exports for us, no exports for anybody' to be implemented too. Bomb Yanbu terminal in the red sea. That's checkmate for the us. Keep bombing schools and hospitals, see if that works out for them.
