If he's already targeting bridges, ports and power plants then... not responding does two things... give the impression of weakness but secondly... a rubicon was crossed without much cost... on to the next. Although your commentary usually offers valuable insights, you occasionally lapse into an unwarranted pessimism. Predicting a US land invasion feels like a hypothetical worst-case scenario rather than a realistic outcome. Beyond that, what is the ultimate goal? Is it to hold southern Iran, and for how long? It is hard to see how this scenario would actually result in regime change and control of Hormuz.
