Pretty accurate analysis for a non-Iranian, brotherMany people here are unaware that Iran's oil fields are actually quite concentrated. The sheer size of the country leads some to think that resources are distributed throughout Iran. In reality, Iranian oil fields are primarily located in the Khuzestan Basin, close to the Iraqi border. Even capturing just a portion of these fields would not only cover the expenses of the war for US and Israel but also transform it into a highly paying and profitable endeavor.
Trust me, all Iranians here know that, well, at least all Iranians here who can read and speak Persian and know the history of Iraq-Iran war, know that.
In fact, that was Saddam's original plan when he launched the war on Iran in 1980. Saddam knew that if he could occupy only the Khuzestan province of Iran, it would've been a huge blow to the entirety of Iran. Over 90% of our oil and natural gas come from only two provinces: Khuzestan and Bushehr. Both have been under heavy strikes by the US in recent days.
