That's still too close. It shows Iran either cannot target the USN at all, or is afraid to do so.

I am seeing Iran building a nuke, wont be surprised if they announced it in next 3 to 6 months to deter any thoughts of ground invasion.

Maybe waiting for the invasion fleet to assemble and get closer? More probability of success?

(Dependent on Iran being able to protect those assets until the main battle starts of course );.

For the same reason that we have fired over 2,000 ballistic missiles and haven't killed even 20 American soldiers so far.

Because they can? And they want minimal casualties.

Building a single nuclear warhead is not going to change anything. And Iran has no fissile material to do that. We can only purchase nukes at this point, which is impossible.

The US dropped the second nuclear bomb, Fat Man, on Nagasaki purely out of scientific curiosity to test what their new implosion device would do to a city.

If you think the US is going to have mercy on a weak enemy, you haven't read the history of the US and their atrocities well.

I mean, I don't think anyone can help you if you still think that Israel and Iran are in cahoots somehow. This very thread has documented various high profile attacks against Israel in the last year. You might not think that's enough by your standards (and I'm sure Iranians are deeply sorry for disappointing you so much), but to suggest that IRGC aren't doing anything against Israel is bonkers.

An aircraft carrier has approx 6000 personnel onboard - During the Pearl harbor attack 2,403 Americans were killed and 1,178 others were wounded. American declared open war against Japan the following day and we know how that ended.

Best not to tempt fate with silly comments about sinking aircraft carriers.

Nobody should underestimate the symbolic value of aircraft carriers to occidental military leaders and politicians. There is a joke in the UK that it has two of them so that they can still claim to have not lost a war if one of them is sunk in combat.
