Do you hear yourself? China will stop buying oil. For what purpose other than to bail to Western economies out?
China randomly stopping oil imports for the first time in 10 years was actually a deliberate action to hurt Iran’s leverage. Trump visited Xi and afterwards Xi did this. xi will never raise a finger towards America, just sail his ships in circles around Taiwan over and over.
China’s population is rapidly aging and its population growth is negative. By 2050, China will have “lost” 300M people. By 2100, Chinese population could be as low as 700M people.
Time is not on China’s side. It’s in its peak form right now. However, Xi is a pacifist and prefers to beat the West by waiting for the U.S. to implode and for Taiwan to change its stance on reunification.
I have blamed Iran’s leadership plenty on here. I blame them daily basis.
But people who come on here and try to claim China is playing some 5D chess are just delusional. They haven’t fought a war since Korea. And their military has to routinely purge itself due to corruption scandals. On top of all this, you have a leader who is anti confrontational and will wait until the West is suffocating him to do anything about it. Putin acted the same way from 2000-2022 and learned the hard way. Xi will learn too.
I am not saying china is doing everything perfectly.
I am telling you what their calculations are. You confuse geopolitical rlationships to personal ones. Its a ery common misconception.
Whether me or you agree with it is irrelevant. Take emotions out.
China absolutely bailed the west out by not buying 5m barrels of oil. For this they almost certainly got something significant in return.
On the other hand China will provide Iran with critical raw materials, satelite info, and virtually the last customer that will buy Iranian oil in current circumstances.
This is the geopolitical situation the Iranian government has gotten us into.
Iran has taken an almost sacrificial geopolitical stance. Instead of being cunning or smart, they are playing poker with open hands.
Everyone knows where Iran stands, where its weakneses are and how to use that to their advantage.
Its not Chinas fault that they buy Iranian oil for cheap. Its the Iranian governments fault for putting the country into such a shitty geopolitcal situation that nobody treats Iran like an ally, an use her as a geopoltical tool to serve their interests.
Other countries are thinking modern geopoltics, our akhonds are thinking karbala agains the US/Israel
