Iran, Russia, and Gulf Countries all seem to have hindered oil production. The US effectively installed a puppet and took control of Venezuela. It seems blocking the Strait of Hormuz causes lots of pain but in the long run gives US / Israel oil dominance in the world as new supply chains are set up to cover the deficits caused by this war.

If this is really a goal then it is accomplishing it even though it looks so incompetent.
