Which is why I mentioned the Montreaux convention. A precedence that canbe built upon... limiting any foreign warship entry... tonnage etc...

In case of Iran no foreign warships should be allowed to enter... Oman just simply lacks any power to enforce... canbe manipulated or arm twisted to make concessions that directly impact the safety and security of Iran or in other times the littoral states/statelets. Sitting at the rim, Oman cannot extend authority past that point...
