Pact IMO was for Saudi internal security and v Israel. I dont think Pak had intended for it to become a pact where it needs to intervene against fellow muslim countries. which it has friendly relations with.
Pak and SA has had a close security arrangement for decades, not joining in to attack Yemen more than a decade back shows generally what Pak's position has been when it comes to the region - non alignment and involvement.
Perhaps you will be happier in the US-Perspectives on Iran war thread.Actually on top, I just noticed. (I also noticed in the past too). That even mildly written posts of mine were deleted which were based on facts and were right on the topic. I only responded to few of the posts with a reality check and wasn't even a bit harsh in anyways.
@Persian Gulf Making a thread as an echo chamber isn't a right strategy.
@Musings @Mr X Should there be another Iran-US war thread be created that has more levels of tolerance ? So atleast we can see balanced views and freely express our opinions on reality ?
I think the chances of Pak forces getting involved at some point are at the highest its ever been. The whole region is spiraling out of control. Israel did what it wanted to - create years of instability. The context of my comment is not in the specifics or speculation on the terms... it is about a widening conflict that is expanding horizontally. The Ukrainian attack on Iran is just one such indicator... however, we'll truly know if that expands if Ukraine takes further actions... meaning, reflecting a policy change. Saudis have attacked two separate countries and that also sits on a precipice of escalation. Since no one has made a move to de-escalate.
The proxy networks in Kurds and dissident Iranian factions have taken a beating and may not level up to anything meaningful... which can make US add new entries... in the form of Saudis and Ukrainians...
The complexity of the situation can cause miscalculations and have unforeseen consequences... that is where Pakistan canbe roped in...
It is crucial for Pakistan to stay out of it... it is in Pakistan's interest that all parties mend ties in the mideast and focus entirely on the entity... whose sole aim is to burn everything down to rule the ashes.
I didn't read the context of your posts as I am at work but we have a parallel thread of Iran-US war https://defencepk.com/forums/thread...ran-israel-us-war.31323/page-370#post-1346324Actually on top, I just noticed. I also think trump never intended to stick with the MOU, it was a temporary pause to re-orient and go again. We knew it how dangerous the situation is. That's why we tried our best to settle the issue and MoU was signed. The war over Iran was literally over. It was best for Iran and MoU was being considered by most as victory for Iran.
and what's happening since hitting commercial ships is a disaster not only for Iran but for entire region except Israel.
Your use of “Iranian regime” suggests otherwise. No ill wisher of iran and think theyve been good freinds.
But iranian regime lost the war months ago. Most discussions on this thread are just nonsense. And they were better off getting any reasonable deal trump was giving then itself.
