Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

Egypt is in no shape to join any war, except maybe some jets. The Egyptian people know full well what is going on, as do all Arab people (people, not governments). Even with constant anti-Iranian propaganda from (state) media outlets in Arab countries, the average person in the Arab street hopes Iran fights on until it defeats the enemy.
Not that this matters in a dictatorship by the way.

I think the current bombing is nothing else than what has been done before. They are hitting military installations in the shore region of Iran for weeks now. No reason to believe this is any kind of retalliation.

The US can never send ground troops, never. Unless the Iranian government has become so weak it can't be considered a central government anymore. At that time, they'll send in their proxies like the KRG anyway and special forces to assist.

I don't see that happening any time soon. This is an air war, the US has goal, it doesn't look like it can achieve them, but now it's trying to pull in PGCC countries into it more openly.
I think trumps strategy is to keep a low intensity conflict going so Iran can't rebuild or rearm. At the same time to impose a blockade to create a complete economic collapse so Iran can surrender and do what he wants. Then when Iran is very weak to use small proxy groups to ferment unrest to topple the government.

I dont think his wedded to ground troops, special ops sure.

GCC countries dont have the muscle (man power) for supporting ground operations in Iran. In the region only Egypt, Turkey and Pakistan do, but none of them will send troops to attack Iran.

So it comes down to who blinks first, how long can trump market manipulate keep prices stable and slip through oil from SOH, whilst ramping up weapons production.

Then how long can Iran keep firing drones and missiles, continue some weapons manufacturing and keep its people onside with its policy and approach v US.

Yes agree in broad lines. And no, none of those countries will start a full war, none of their populations want it, the goverments of Pakistan and Turkey also don't want a 20 year civil war on their doorsteps, especially Pakistan with it's Baluchistan problems.

Iran needs to break through the blockade, I think now is as good a time as any to target US military ships. The straits (plural) are closed, Iran won't collapse in a few months or even years, but the straits can't remain closed for months or years. The world, especially Asia is hurting real bad with the fuel shortages.

Either fully escalate, or sink ships. The US in 2026 can't even stomach hundreds of dead military, let alone thousands. There needs to be a large casualty event. This needs to be the goal and I think it's a navy thing.

A weak, destabilized Iran is a major nightmare for Pakistan. We absolutely cannot afford that.

Full blockade should be implemented. Mine the strait. Launch the missiles on Tel Aviv. Simple. They're going to attack Iran no matter what, so might as well kick them in the bollocks while you still can.

Meengla
Almost Every US President got his hands in war with someone.Trump is not something surprising. He just proved to his successors that military action against Iran is doable.Next Presidents can even be more ruthless given the precedent Trump has set. Almost all cases are done and dusted in American Playbook except one pending for last 4 decades.Trump just opened that Pandora Box.
Talking about Israel, their whole population is radicalized with American weaponry in hand.Pick any Tom and he will be your Netanyahu.

The military options against Iran were always 'doable' but why they were not done for 3-4 decades despite Netanyahu and AIPAC and surrogates like John McCain? Because able to do something doesn't' necessarily mean you will have done that something. This war is not going well for America.

Anyway, who can tell what the future holds but I'd put my 2 cents on a quick wrap up of this war if Trump has a heart attack and Vance become the POTUS today. I have considered this a personal war, waged by two men: Trump and Netanyahu. They are larger than life figures and institutions in themselves. Remove them from the equation and see what happens. But having said that... the war is morphing into a war to protect the Petro Dollar itself so who knows after a considerable pause, there will be more wars in the region.

If Trump was worried about Brent climbing up, he wouldn't have started the war in first place.
Even now, all those 5 missiles were intercepted. You just don't launch 2-week compaign to respond a failed attack.
He may have got a long term plan and he's sticking with it .

fair comment!

when geo political risk rise, export commodities like oil and of course weapons manufacturing does extremely well..

but it cuts both ways, bec, this comes at the expense of everything else going wrong!

for instance, oil which comes from middle east, is used in chip manufacturing (unlike oil which comes from any where else or at least, it reduces supply to create significant impact on manufacturing!)

so no, overall, this is not a benefit to any economy

this is well known researched fact about geopolitical risks!

Oh yeah it's exactly what USA wants, full blockade and FCK Eurasia economy. That's what USA wants, why should Iran do what enemy wants?

This is what USA fears and what Iran can use as deterrence

Yesterday it was closed IRGC telegram and tasnim x account.

This is what USA fears:

Jordanians’ Rare Challenge to Their Leaders: Tell the U.S. to Leave
Hundreds of political, legal and other figures signed a public letter warning that Jordan’s close alliance with the United States poses a risk.

https://www.nytimes.com/2026/07/29/world/middleeast/jordan-us-military-iran-war.html

The online collaboration of local troops and people who doesn't want USA troops presence in their countries.

Iran could handle better that information, open new channels, and use fragments of information as deterrence.

It's only corrupt bribed elites of Middle East who support this stupid war, all the rest of people doesn't want it.

USA in his arrogance didn't create a minimum narrative for Iran war, and everybody understands it's a war for Israel crazy corrupt elite and to damage Middle East economy.

In a high-intensity war involving NATO allies like England, Australia, and the EU, Iran's missile arsenal could deplete in months rather than years. Furthermore, U.S. strikes on Iran's power grids and plants would cause long-term setbacks, significantly hindering its ability to manufacture drones and missiles. So even Iran will have to re-adjust it's belligerence.
