I have been telling this forum for DAYS the Strait of Hormuz is LEAKY. Iran’s fake stories of blowing up tankers weren’t being believed in absence of satellite confirmation.

Looks like IRGC had to act to restore SOME fear. But hitting one ship won’t be enough.

Will Trump honor his redline? Or will he let it be crossed like the Iranians routinely do?

Footage shows an Iranian drone strike on the US Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain. The base hosts a fighter wing of the Royal Bahraini Air Force as well as US military units. Sheikh Isa serves as a repair and maintenance hub for US aircraft, helicopters, and drones. It is worth noting that the US is also currently carrying out retaliatory strikes against Iran.

CBS is owned by Larry Ellison and son now and is being converted into another Fox News. CNN will soon have the same fate . The only viewer left for the dying cable/broadcast news business is the Boomer right winger.

@Persian Gulf
@ShapurII

Iran had two Supreme Leaders that belonged to the wrong periods of time.

When Iran needed a peace seeking SL it got Khomeini who kept an unnecessary war going.

When Iran needed a war and strong defiant supreme leader it got Khamenai who tried to avoid war at all cost and failed to deter the enemy.

In the past Iran was not ready for war.

It was in Iran's best interests to postpone the war as long as possible.

Imagine if war started in 2015. Iran's missile arsenal was small, missiles inaccurate, drone arsenal non existent and China was still a developing country vulnerable to US pressure.

How Iran could respond to US and Israel in 2015 for example?

Khamenei did a good job by postponing the conflict as long as possible and not falling to Israel-US provocations .

Iran won time to improve centrifuge technology, accumulate large arsenal of accurate missiles and drones and develop air defense systems.

It would have been even better if Iran could have another 5 years to improve IR-9 centrifuge technology and increase missile and drone arsenal even further.

When you are fighting a global superpower, better to fight in 2026 than in 2009, 2016 or 2020.

Sun Tzu - "To win one hundred victories in one hundred battles is not the acme of skill. To subdue the enemy without fighting is the acme of skill".

The best scenario in Khamenei's mind was winning time until 2035 when Iran is fully equipped for war, nuclear program is unstoppable, while China is a new global superpower that is ready to challenge the US.

Another report of tanker being attacked, this one was a near miss maybe a mine exploding near by or a missile/drone missing target.

Neither of the two incidents reported happened today.

Iran is filled with cowardly leaders who let thousands of children die and let redlines be crossed one after another, while they hide behind philosophical threats of war.

This isn’t a country serious about fighting America in an existential battle. It’s a fake cheap water downed imitation of the 1980’s Revolutionary movement.

I have warned about the ineptitude of this government going as far back as 2012 in its intervention in Syria.
Immortals again out there, thinking Iran is the Soviet Union circa 1975, standing as tall as the US and being a full peer to the US. Iran has to pick its battles, have a strategy (break through this 47 year hostility, stay alive and in one piece. This isn't a clash of 5 months only.

I agree in big part.

Some fools lament the Iranian government for funding and helping 'all those proxies for decades'. Imagine if they didn't exist. If they didn't exist, all those proxies wouldn't had to be fought for decades, leaving the US, which was much stronger in lets say 2005 than now, and Iran was militarily much weaker in 2005 then now, to go and have an easy time.

There is a reason the Syrian war took 15 years (also Russian help of course) and that Isr tried to destroy hezb for 45 years by now. Even the Saudi pathetic war in Yemen took about 10 years while being inconclusive.

One thing the empty-headers don't understand is that: Global South keeps getting more powerful in every single way, military equipment is becoming more widespread (simple Shahed drones, imagine that in military planning 20 years ago, FPV drones, imagine that during the Iraq/Afghanistan occupation??), and the big bad superpowers are getting weaker every day (think America can replace all it's bombers, fighters, navy 1 on 1 basis? Completely impossible.

So yes, postponing the mainland Iran war as long as possible while actively helping allies defend themselves in the meantime, was the best possible strategy. If this was 2010, it would have looked very differently.
