Iran is just going to let Bessent do full on economic warfare and crush the currency to get people rioting in the streets after gasoline shortages happen?

Once again Iranian leadership is weakening itself by avoiding war and facing the problem head on.

Only a matter of time till the West engineers more protests in the country and the ‘Rally around the flag’ effect wears off as people get tired of the blockade and being treated like Gaza.

Iran should be very careful and take lessons learned from Gaza and Lebanon and Syria, the local population will only rally around the flag for a brief amount of time. But economic stress will make people agitated.

Iran should have never traded kinetic warfare for a non-kinetic economic siege. This is the Maximum Pressure of 2016-2025 all over again, except this time Iran cannot even use its ports or do maritime trade.

This feels like the Admiral exceeding his to me. His job is executing policy, not making it. Of course he has input into policy but discussing it with foreign officials is stepping over the line. I have a feeling Trump will fire Hegseth and Cooper after the midterms and the groundwork is being laid for it.

You speak the truth brother. We're just as much on borrowed time and our people will start seeing en masse what a facade and sham this whole fiasco has been. We have no choice but to escalate, otherwise while the blockade is occurring, there will be more assassinations, sabotage, economic downfalls, etc etc. The only way I see us surviving in the next few months is to financially strangle the Gulf States and demand compensation like with UAE, and it will have to be on a constant basis.

But its really trumps fault for bringing on all these idiot yes men fascists on board.

The venezuela operation and last years once off strike on Iran really made Trump and his cronies believe they have ascended into god hood or something and that everyone will bow to them.

It also doesn't help that Latin Americans are generally simple minded, slow, and incompetent. What you had then was a Judeo-WASP establishment who saw how easily these melanated peoples caved and used that as a frame of reference for all other people of color, hence their stance towards Iran, which is why Trump called us savages, scum, cavemen, etc etc. You have to realize that with white people, the color of your skin is just as much of a factor when they're out for blood.

That belief system is their own weakness that will destroy their status of superpower in the end.

Americans still believe china can only copy american stuff lol. That belief has allowed China to start running laps around America technologically and supply chain wise.

They want to believe they are special then that arrogance will be their downfall.

After all these sanctions that US imposed on Iran, there is only one way to harm Iran economically - to force China to stop trading with Iran and US can't do it.

In response to sanctions Iran can close the Strait of Hormuz and keep it closed as long as sanctions are applied.

Idiotic Trump himself got himself into this mess.

I don't think you Chinese have much to worry about. Even if you had never developed nukes, those hypersonic missiles and proper air force investments have ensured your dominance for decades to come. I seriously wish we had your government: silent, efficient, and uncompromised.

Mate, the blockade is already hurting us badly. We can't just close the strait indefinitely, nor match it with the blockade. The only alternative is to milk the Gulf States dry for as long as the blockade lasts.
 
The only proportional response to the blockade is if we can't export oil, no one else can. Not through the Strait, not through pipelines. Iran has not pursued that doctrine and is being disproportionately affected.

I also don't buy the "we can continue to enforce the siege indefinitely" bluster. Their equipment is astronomically expensive, for profit and requires long periods of downtime for maintenance. Morale is as low or lower than the popularity of the war itself. Their sailors are throwing themselves overboard.

Interesting. UAE releases funds and gold to Iran and the very next day 2 of their ships gets attacked. Maybe these false flag claims have some merit?
