Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

the top politicians are all saying this blockade cannot be endured and we must make a deal ASAP.

so the military must present a way to disable the blockade, or accept the political necessity for a deal
The only political necessity would be to reopen the strait of hormuz. I doubt the US is going to continue the blockade over issues such as the nuclear program, missiles, or proxies. Iran could even get its oil/petrochemical products unsanctioned and assets unfrozen.

Or they could escalate. But they have to do something. This limbo situation is retarded.

the fact the US/Israel killed so much of the top leadership also suggests they were not moles as well, which is encouraging in a way.

It does not suggest that at all. In fact, Israel most likely killed US moles in the morning attack of the war. Trump said that Israel not only bombed the bad guys that morning at Khamenai residence, but guys they wanted to negotiate with and take over (“regime change”) who were in another part of the compound also meeting.

I think Shamkhani was a U.S. mole and that explains why Israel tried to kill him in both June and February. U.S. and especially Israel have no qualms about killing off their moles especially once they reach their useful end game.

If your mole is in a building with highly important and top leadership, you think that Israel who has the Hannibal directive would hesitate to not kill the mole alongside those officials? Of course not.

this is aimed at everyone not just you, but let's stick to the topic

people can discuss Turkish - Israeli affairs in another thread
Agreed! I was just replying to the forum member who was talking about possible war between the two

No offense was intended

Iran could have (and still could) mine the Omani path. Iran had a pre-war arsenal of up to 10,000 sea mines.

Even if we say 75% were destroyed by airstrikes or used. That still would leave enough sea mines to close the Oman lane.

Also Iran could fire smart torpedoes or underwater drones at tankers when they crossing the Oman pathway and create a graveyard of ships that natural blocks that very narrow corridor with abandoned ships.

This lack of action is not for the lack of options. There is something else going on behind the scene.

It makes sense Mashad is Northeastern corner of Iran and would require Israel and U.S. to fly deep into Iran or thru Azeribajian to launch munitions.

Also Mashad as a missile city has less value for Iran as it’s far away from the western borders so any launches would be limited to PGCC and not Israel. And it would be a shame to waste long range missiles on PGCC when missile cities closer to the coastline could do the same attack.

My guess was Mashad missile city was originally built back when US had forces in Afghanistan and as a deterrent to Azerbaijan in case of conflict.

Okay.. so what are they waiting for? They keep saying there's an escalation going on so they should treat it as an escalation

So far it's virtually nothing

I do not buy this we will be strangled by economic sanctions, i mean you survived bombing raids during months and now you will capitulate because you can not export much oil as you wish, it is not logical but even if it is true that the blockade is imminent existential threat to Iran i suppose that you should start sinking tankers properly, it is not lack of oil that cause price spikes but lack of shipping.
If russia is willing to provide grain you will not be hungry and can drag this economic war longer than americans as your trash hold is more endurable as society.
Third option for Iran is to play silent for month before elections in usa and then escalate again to sink republicans completely meanwhile doing silently what it can to keep oil prices high as possible.

Iran should make an official alliance with Somali Pirates and provide them with modern fast attack boats armed with missiles and torpedoes with the orders to hijack any ship at will besides some countries

They will become unstoppable with that, it will revive the Golden Age of piracy

Interesting thought.. but I don't think it reflects the real world
