Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

Interesting analogy and maybe I am misunderstanding

If you were trying to tell me that Iran has a Trojan horse, it's 6 months into the war, are they going to wait another 6 months? A year?
No.

I’m just saying that Priam is on the throne, no Greek has entered the city, and if the US doesn’t build a Trojan horse, the Greeks will lose the war.

Iran needs only a few missiles and drones to have thousands of soldiers swatting flies at the foot of its walls.

And there are people willing to pay for those drones and missiles.

No.

Okay a nuance response. Can understand that.

It's just that Iran has lost a lot. A lot of its industrial base has been hit. Military targets etc etc. To defend itself, it has to strike back hard

I just wish this damned war would end.

Good analogy.

I have always felt Iran's BEST chance lies with luring Americans into a ground attack and then inflicting intolerable casualties upon them.

But they aren't taking the bait.

Can Troy bear the economic pain to withstand the siege? That is all that Iran can do for now.

Economics will likely be the Achilles heel of both parties. Whose snaps first?

No.

Unsuitable analogy because there are plenty of Trojans inside the Republic working for the Greeks as we speak. Furthermore, the citizens are divided and tired of Priam’s rule and want the freedom and prosperity the Greeks have. The longer the siege goes on the more likihood of a revolt.

Seems like Iran is headed down the path of giving up control of Hormuz. Which begs the question what was the point of fighting since July?

We are nearing the point where either the traitors win (Qalibaf, Pezeshkhian, Rouhani camp) or Iran re-starts The war.

If the position of those treacherous groups wins out as the main consensus, then the end of Republic is much closer than people think despite “winning” the war.

I like to think I have a good pulse on disastrous Iranian foreign policy, I predicted the assassination of Supreme Leader and the demise of Hezbollah months in advance and now I’m predicting the demise of the Republic if these idiots give up control of Hormuz.

The Assadification of Iran is at hand.

Assadification

Does the rhetoric match the substance?
Assad was propped up from outside fighting an insurrection that had split his army and many regions. US, Russia, Iran, Turkiye, Zion and multiple others had presence... porous borders and every neighbor hostile... to top it off... Assad had his hands in every jar. What parallels do you bank on?
Taking the war to Iran is a futile act for US that will cost more than any benefits that can be accrued except for short term fleeting ones. Simultaneously, Iran just doesn't possess the ability to take this war to the US. The alternative is simple... US presence in the long run in the same capacity is simply untenable... due to the shear cost of maintaining this posture...
Iran will have to wait US out while keeping it's periphery clear of any build up. No establishment of bases, radars or ISR in general... no proxies taking hold.

Taliban, more or less followed a similar strategy... the invasion is always the more expensive act... holding the posture drains the empire... and orange is doing that to save his own face...

It is brand America taking a hit for a shiny turd at the throne.

Assadification refers to the fact that Assad won the war. Shipped all the terrorists to Idlib province and then stopped the war. Instead of going for the final victory he let Idlib turn into a terrorist jihadi-Stan (with Turkish help).

Then eventually Assad fell from the economic blockade of the Caesar sanctions, not from the armed uprising.

Iran won the war and took control of the Strait. Instead of enforcing their redlines and closing the leaky strait to force a global economic depression or U.S. capitulation… they too have given up in favor of status quo.

And like Assad, Iran is under a naval blockade akin to the Caesar sanctions. This too will lead to Iran collapsing not from bombs or military action, but from economic calamity and restive population. The populations ‘rally around the flag’ effect and patriotism will slowly erode and riots will start soon.

This victory you're boasting about is Pyrrhic at best mate, and that's nothing to be proud of. And as you said, we don't even have the political willpower to carry this thing through because we're in the Gorbachev phase of the republic where the system is leakier than the strait!

I wouldn’t say it’s Pyrrhic. It simply was a powerful tool if used correctly. The western developed world has populations sensitive to economic calamity.

Politicians have a lot more to lose in these countries than in Iran that has been under maximum sanctions for last 12 years and some form of sanctions on its oil since 2000’s and US trade embargo since 1979.

Iran’s GDP is ~400B and economic growth has been anemic with rampant inflation, so it had much less to lose if the world was sent into an energy crisis global depression

At the end of the day even with a decapitation of most of it’s leadership which would have crossed the line of using nuclear weapons in response if it were Russia or China in Iran’s shoes, Iran still did not play its most valuable card energy destruction of Middle East facilities.

Iran at the end of the day was too soft and will give Trump the opportunity to pull some form of victory from jaws of defeat if this continues, even if Republicans lose the House or Senate (or both).
