2 U.S. drones downed in the past several hours. Conflict is escalating again. U.S. will have to respond.

Since they cannot detect active emissions on an EO-IIR based air defense or anti shipping passive sensor they rely on using uavs as bait to get some detailed pictures at possible missile launch sites. Missile launch heat signature can be taken by the drone cameras or detailed surface photos sent back by the drone to analyse where the sensors are to attack them later on.

If Iran camouflages these iir sensors and reloctes them time to time especially after these launches-drone shootings then they can redeploy safely again to another location so their locations cannot be detected real time. Mainly missile launches are exposed to infrared cameras so if sensors are away from them and camouflaged well they can relocate less frequently. Moving also exposes them if there is an awacs platform. These vehicles need to be camouflaged well like radar scattering meshes, infrared blockers to hide them from these threats while moving or stationary.

This is used mainly to detect Iranian mines in SoH and uses its own mini torpedo to difuse them. Its sensors can be analysed to know what they are using like magnetic, chemical sensors in addition to active sonar to detect mines. So ways to counter them can be deployed like if is is sensitive to a chemical masking it on mines or using something else can be considered. Other than that this is a less risky way for usa to hunt mines instead of sending surface vessels. There should be some high usa uuv sonar activity under SoH waters. Passive sonobuoys can be deployed by Iran to detect these emitter uuvs then they can be hunt down as well. Sonobuoys usually transmit continious radio feed which can be detected by usa predator drones above or by similar platforms to locate them so measures need to be developed against those. Like for example a timed short time radio transmission which can be opened-closed from land nearby which can make random passive scans under the sea and much less radio emission.

Next time they can install some self destruct mechanism on these uuvs. So researching this one is crucial. Other ones that are caught might have traps on them so they need to be difused first.
