I hate for Iran to be the aggressor, but they really needs to launch a pre-emptive strike at this point. There’s a huge chance Israel is preparing to hit them first, and if they do, it’s going to be another massive wave of decapitation strikes on the leadership and infrastructure.

If Iran wants to stand a chance, they have to act fast and be ready to respond in at least under 30 minutes. I just hope the leadership in Tehran actually realizes what’s at stake and knows what they’re doing.

Some of that is essentially what I've been saying. Iran should have fired 50 ballistic missiles at tel Aviv like they said they were going to do.

Well they didn't say the exact number but they said they were going to massively bombard Israel with ballistic missiles

And what exactly would this pre-emptive strike entail and which targets? What size of missiles? How many missiles would need to be launched to ensure a successful strike knowing that between Israel, the US, Jordan and possibly KSA, upwards of 90% of the missiles would be intercepted? Are you confident Iran has the missiles and more importantly the launchers to launch such a strike?

Would the Houthis be involved or allow them to continue their attacks on KSA? Or perhaps a coordinated strike on KSA to distract it while the Iranian attack is underway?

Are drones factored into this or not?

The recent reports says 100s of buildings in US bases are gone. 5th Fleet HQ is done and dusted. So US will spend again time and effort to populate their soldiers so close to Iran ? I don't think so. Secondly, the whole belief-set that if your country has a US base then you are immune to attack is gone in the bin. Now the countries in region knows that US bases are the very reason they are attacked at first place.

So status-quo is already broken. US still can attack Iran any time and anywhere it wants using its carrier fleet and bases in Israel and Jordan but that old heavy presence, hegemony and status quo won't be there anymore.

The massive logistic facility, re-arming facility, re-fueling facility with so much man-power and resources available for sustained operations at Persian Gulf is gone . and its not coming back anytime soon unless some kind of agreement or "MoU" is worked up with Iran.

Yes carrier fleet can float around at massive expenses both economic and political. But strategically this war was an epic blunder by the US. What really US achieved from this war? Nuclear issue was dealt in 2025 already. US behaving as a bitch of Israel in this war has only degraded itself, depleted its ammunition and whole world witnessed that 6 months passed and we are nowhere. Before this war, it was unimaginable for US bases to be touched, now they are in ruins. The reputation of US hard power is being critiszed world over and being acknowledged that it has limits. BTW, its Iran we are talking. So everyone wonders what would be performance really against the likes of its near peer rival like China. China got wealth of data just by observing. again whether the fleet float here or there. Doesn't mean a thing if it cannot create deterrence and openly and freely enters SOH and parks in Bahrain. The presence of carrier fleet always meant deterrence. That is shattered for foreseeable future.

When first attacked Iran should have retaliated massively against Israel. That would have been a very big deterrent right there.

But as long as Israel and the US own the skies, they fear nothing.

Even before the war, Iran didn't have a very big Air Force or navy. A lot of that was wiped out once the war began

In the recent months US has largely stayed away from Iranian airspace for it's manned aircrafts. What you say might have been true in March but it will be interesting to see if Iranians have learned something new since then that makes air superiority over their airspace much more difficult. This is a big unknown I think.

Now that I can agree with you on. If Iran did use a dirty bomb Israel would most likely struck back with one of their own or something of equal power.

Thousands if not tens of thousands on both sides would be killed.

The problem is the size of both countries, while Iran can absorb a hit due to its sheer size and the concept of martyrdom among Iranians, Israel and Israelis will not.

What you say might have been true in March but it will be interesting to see if Iranians have learned something new since then that makes air superiority over their airspace much more difficult. This is a big unknown I think.

Since the F15, A10s were shot down manned flights seem to have reduced more drones and standoff munitions. So seems they are not underestimating Iranian air defence even how limited it may be. Think trump is scared of pilots getting captured if shot down.
