Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi has agreed with leaders of the country's powerful pro-Iran political bloc to give armed groups until June 2027 to complete their disarmament, sources in Baghdad told The New Arab, extending a process initially expected to conclude by the end of September.

Syria is still not completely stabilised. There is a central temporary government after putin made asad run away that is true but constitution and elections are still waiting to be done. If an isis like force emerges again from Syria as central government loses its control then Iraq is unable to protect itself and minorities-other sects in Iraq will again be in danger again. Even when Iraq had an army the army was somehow unable to cope or even slow down isis assaults in 2014.
So laying down weapons for PMU should be conditional to a fair constitution and fair elections in a completely stabilised Syria which is crucial because history has a tendency to repeat itself.
