Unless Iran is hitting 10 ships a day. This tactic is useless. Plus several of these hits are minor with a low warhead drone that doesn’t disable the ship.

Only one aircraft carrier in the Indian Ocean/Gulf of Oman as the Carrier Bush heads to Thailand for R&R.

That means the likelihood of war in next few weeks has dropped until the other aircraft carrier arrives into the region.

There isn't anything happening on the US-Iran front for another 6 weeks. There is chatter of a narrow window between third week of November and early January, where a joint US-GCC attack on Yemen, Iran and Iraq can be conducted.

Iran would have no choice but to go underground and do assymetrical warfare. FPV drones weren't used in Iraq or Afghanistan but they have been very deadly as shown in ukraine because it is easily operated and can strike soft targets of tanks (from above or even tracks) let alone US patrols.

Iran also has good ability to operate guerilla warfare from the mountains and utilise snipers and fpv drones and IEDs which can cause a lot of casualties also.

But conventionally Iran would have to abandon tanks and artillary etc unless they want to be pummeled as big targets for US

Fpv drones would be a must. Iran has a large landmass and it's not like Gaza or southern Lebanon where the geography allows for guerilla warfare defense postures which even then didn't work due to US greenlighting carpet bombing and entire destruction of both regions.

For Iran the landmass is huge so that's not a possibility. While that being a blessing, it's a also a curse when it comes to setting up guerilla warfare defense. FPV drones are not necessarily guerilla warfare as we see they're deployed in Ukraine war which covers a massive area.

I believe US army is better trained for such threat than IDF and they could quite rapidly take over an island or two. My belief is they don't because Iran can still target GCC infrastructure in response and GCC do not like the cost benefit analysis for such an operation.

That's a situation where deterrence capability actually works. Unlike it working against Israel (the only one was pre-2023 Hezbollah in Israels case and once they got attacked it disappeared so Iran and AoR lack deterrence capability against Israel but do have it against GCC and Saudi Arabia.

Noticable uptick. Though gas prices have went down in the USA. Even though they're at $4 I will say that's doable/still okay for most of middle class America. Over $5 would start becoming an issue. This is for what we call regular 87 blend in the USA that vast majority of cars run on.
