Did he really say that? I'm sorry but what the F were you expecting when you let them in your most sensitive sites? It's an open secret that these lots are basically an extension of Cia/Mossad, covert intelligence etc...and this fact didn't dawn on senior Iranian leaders? I understand you were likely under pressure, owing to sanctions, to let them in etc but then why didn't you take extra care and mitigated against this risk? There is so much you could have done to avoid the loss of precious lives(your scientists)...but then again if Mullahs ever engaged their brain, our society wouldn't be stuck in Medevial times.

Man you know what I see is a lot of wear and tear for American naval vessels with them seating out to sea never in neighboring port’s anymore navy is going to need a few billion extra for all those ships that aircraft carrierr a month ago looked like it was just about to fall apart

So, there was only ever one rational choice.

Either go for the bomb or don’t dabble in nuclear at all.

It’s not even a mullah problem. Iran is a liberal arts dominated society.

Take out the Khomeinist period of 1980-1990 and the history of the country is one that avoids conflict and focused more on philosophy, poems, and artistic endeavors.

This isn’t the type of society that races to nuclear weapons. Its entire nuclear program was forced upon them ironically by the Americans/French on the Shah of Iran. It was mothballed then resurrected when iran feared Saddam was close to nuclear bomb. Then shuttered again when Saddam was toppled in 2003.

Since 2003 it has been used as a leverage card against the West and not as a national security necessity.

Once you they killed off Heavy Water Reactor in Arak in 2015 JCPoA signing that would have made 10+ nuclear bombs via plutonium reprocessing it was a sign Iran wasn’t serious about ever obtaining nuclear weapons.
