I didn't say Iran doesn't have air defense.

If you're gonna lie about me, then don't quote me saying the exact opposite of your claim.

I said Iran barely has air defense, which is true as Iran has only been seriously investing in air defense only recently.

It has a shortage.

And what it does have isn't much of a threat.

These are facts.

If this was purely a ground war between Iran and Israel, Iran would dominate.

Barely has air defences? If you’re clueless then avoid speaking on a topic. Iran has one of the most potent air defences in the region if not the world. No air defence is full proof, even Israel with its tightly packed air defence and years of preparation could not stop a volley of 180 missiles.

It's not about potency, it's about coverage.

Israel only has a robust air coverage against dumb missiles launched by hamas and hezbullah. And their advanced systems are few and far between.

Iran has some s-300 systems (which has shown to be very vulnerable), some domestic systems (none of which have any real world data), and some older outdated systems....and that's about it.

My biggest criticism has been Iran air defenses.

Not only does it not have an effective air force, but SAM systems have shown their limitations in the last few years.

Case in point, Iranian air defenses aren't a real threat to Israel, thus your points are moot.

Face saving?
I think this “attack” was anticipated. Minimalistic and not dented Iranian moral or potential revenge.
The way the IDF have slaughtered Gaza and the way the Lebanese attacks are with full vigour - this is simply nothing.
They feel comfortable in attacking people that can’t respond.
Attacking Iran is a different story.
