I thought I was the only one. I have been using Ubuntu (Linux) since 2013.Hi,
My laptop is Linux based and certainly it offers some measure of protection, you can even install Linux on your android device/phone if you want.
You will never be 100% immune from being spied upon, even if you used on onion router because you are still reliant on using an ISP endpoint or bridge but you can limit your risk and exposure.
Things that are most often used to gather information on people are:
Social media pages, Facebook is the biggest culprit
Messenger apps: Use line or Telegram instead of WA
Use a VPN on onion router to get online. You can even have reasonable secure and anonymous email using onionmail (requires technical skills) or you can use proton.me (like Gmail- but encrypted).
You will never be 100% free from being spied on unless you use an encrypted device that is locked down and only uses an encrypted wireless or hardwired connection to speak to other encrypted off-net devices.
