It will be the same tried and tested method in Iran if the current govt falls: From the northern Azeris to the southern Baluchis to the eastern Afghans to the western Arabs: Every ethnic group, sectarian divide would be exploited to fight each other and fight whatever the rump central govt would be. Let them fight each other instead of us.

Happened in Iraq, happened in Syria, happened in Libya and attempted duplication in Iran.

This rationality is what got Iran here in the first place. History needs brave men who act with courage beyond the average. It was not very rational for Israel to risk spec ops teams in Iran proper, but they did.

This is same elite that has used Pakistan for rent seeking and doesnt care about its people or future, which is why it cannot see the opportunity this war offers to help its neighbor and burnish its credentials with Russia and China, rather than remaining a western stooge.

Iran falls > US/Israeli bases are setup in Iran, possibly Indians too > Pakistan will become next priority for Israel, US, NATO and of course India. You can imagine what could happen next.

IF USA does enter the war between Israel and Iran, it won't be like Iraq, there won't be a troops on ground, most likely deployment of Aerial and Naval assets to assist Israel. American public isn't in the mood to die for Israel.
