It isn’t though, not in any significant way (and I’m not talking about the military conflict).

Yes, as a matter of policy and principle, Iran has opposed Israel’s brutal occupation of Palestinians and worked (through proxies etc) to weaken it, and opposed the West’s colonizer policies, but the results are for everyone to see.

The lesson: A moral and principled foreign policy is little more than words and statements when you don’t have the military and economic clout to push for tangible change, especially when you have the worlds only hyperpower actively working against you and bolstering the genocidal Israeli regime that you oppose.

There were lot of giddy talks late last year about why Russia+Iran decided to let Syria fall because, per the rumors, in the SCO meetings, China+Russia asked Iran to let go of the failing Middle East drives of Iran and that Iran should be ready to join the new 'big boys' club. There were talks about how Russia was giving Iran highly advanced air defense system starting those days.
Almost certainly none of that was true.

Got to be negotiations with US. What are we going to do in Oman of all places? The negotiations between Iran and US was being hosted by Oman.
