Maga base is not split they are vast majority a no to war with Iran.He hasn't ordered an attack just yet. He's ordered assets to move into position incase he orders an attack.
This may just be posturing to force Iran to capitulate, or at least negotiate back door from a weakened position.
The fact Trump has said he wants to invite Iranian negotiator to the white house (an unprecedented move) is evidence that Trump may not be comfortable with actually becoming a war time president, something he's ranted and railed about.
His MAGA voter base is already split on this issue, and it could mean the death of his political future if he goes through with this. There are already indications that he may face a revolt within MAGA, and potential impeachment charges if he does this.
He had a decision to make, and he's likely to face the harsh reality of the extremism he's fostered within his own party no matter what he chooses.
The Republican party has 3 wings....
Neocons/establishment globalist like Lindsey Graham who never said no to a war he didn't like fortunately they are a dying breed.
Then you got MAGA wing which is more of a nationalist/isolationist movement tired of the BS democrats and neocons have done to this country with wars and open borders.
Then you have the Conservatives. These are a tricky bunch they look like MAGA but are not MAGA. These people are the Ted Cruz wing and ally themselves with neocons when it comes to Israel. They dislike Trump but go a long with him since it keeps the democrats away but wouldn't hesitate to pull a Julius Ceaser on him if given the chance.
