The post revolution Iranian establishments have repeatedly miscalculated and botched their foreign policy, isolating them. Hopefully, they will now pivot and towards the Chinese. They need to remove the sectarian lenses, tone down their rhetoric, stop over-reaching into every country around them, and pursue a foreign policy solely focused on forming regional economic and military ties, instead of rivalries and losing horses. They can leave the Saudis and Emiratis as they are but the reasonless poking between them, Pakistan, and Turkey needs to end. All three countries have a fair bit to offer each other and no serious issues.
They also need to tone it down against the US. With power disparity of this magnituted you need to be smart, work with it, and build yourself up. A quieter, less aggressive, but stronger and more engaged Iran will better for Iranians, Muslims, the region, and the Palestinians.
