IF Iran's nuclear weapons program has REALLY been rolled back by 10 years then the israelis can stop the war now. What's the point of continuing?

It is Tehran that is continuing the war.

Tel Aviv miscalculated Iranian anger and has lost control of the war completely, although the blow by USAF on their behalf appears to be a heavy one.

Tehran still has a game plan and is executing it in order to - at the very least - preserve the IR in its current political form and to firmly crush any notion of "regime change". An additional objective is probably to inflict as much infrastructural harm to Israel as it possibly can.

I believe that Tehran has calculated that Trump has no appetite to go in on the ground and therefore, can use BM strikes against Israel for quite some time yet.

In my personal view, tonight Iran has a significant opportunity to rid the Middle East of weapons of mass destruction by attacking and destroying Israel’s biological weapon, chemical weapon, and nuclear sites, along with other strategic locations. Iran should coordinate a massive missile and drone strike designed to have all projectiles reach Israeli targets simultaneously (though not necessarily be launched at the same time), in order to overwhelm Israel's increasingly depleted air defense systems. So far, Iran has mostly targeted non-strategic locations and allowed Israel ample time to intercept its missiles and drones. It is time for Iran to move beyond these symbolic attacks and take decisive action.

Now that the US has entered this conflict, the main question remains on whether another superpower will also enter this conflict in support of Iran.

Russia's hands are tied in Ukraine. China via Pakistan seems likely.

While Muslims only talk about calibrated response. You've got to give it to the US, they don't talk smack, they follow through their threats.

From the US perspective, Iran was being boastful and openly defiant to the status quo. It was a challenge to Pax Americana. It’s not that Muslims do calibrated responses, it’s weaker powers have to do calibrated responses and buy time.

The Iranians should have studied what the North Koreans did. They got their program build at record speed and did it quietly. Look at North Korea’s ICBM capability. It’s what got the US to back off.

The other lesson is the US has allies and will rope everyone into keep up the pressure until the mission is accomplished. North Korea got what it wanted, regime survival and went back to a quiet build up.

This will all come to an end very soon, a few more days for what ever Iran's 'response' will be to the Americans(attack empty bases most likely) and all parties will go for a ceasefire. Iran has shown it cannot wage a war, actually it has no idea at all. Iran has been defanged and degraded to a low regional power from the "country you should not attack to why not attack them, they cant do anything". Until they work out how to wage a war, right now, it would be best for Iran to actually keep a low profile, lick its wounds, shut their big mouths and work out how it all went wrong.

Iran has lost control of the airspace of her capital city, that is how bad it is for Iran and their military.

That's surrender and has bad long term implications for Iran.

To be effective resistance you have to be willing to fight it out and follow through with the plan. Not call it quits and run away from battlefield.

These estimates are complete & utter BS.

Iran’s nuclear program is far too advanced & complex to be rolled back seriously.
Even if this attack was a complete success ( which is highly unlikely ) the nuclear program shouldn’t be hindered no more than a year or 2 at max.

Cut funding to Lebanon and rely on Yemen for power projection

I really hope Pakistan and China will not refuse because of US secondary sanction threats, they should know that they are next if Iran falls

Iran had several opportunities in the last 10-15 years to acquire JF-17 or J-10 or even the Russian Sukhois. But it decided to forgo advanced fighter jet acquisition in favour of missile programme, and left the Iranian Air Force to make do with reverse engineered F-5s. Missiles can attack the enemy but cannot defend the home country like the fighters jets do. An up to date air force would have been able to impede the Israeli air strikes. Its a shame considering that the Iranian Air Force used to be the best equipped air force in the Middle East once and even out performed the Iraqis during Iran-Iraq war. Their reward was to become obsolete to the point of non-existence.
