Pakistan was created and populated with people that were mostly already there. Some migrated from the other side. These people weren't flown in from other parts of the world and settled in these lands.

Let me assure you that many European Jews are not native to the Middle East or the Holy land. They were given this land by the Brits in exchange for being a policeman of the region. Of course the perverse idea of a so-called promised land also comes into play.

Since 1979, it was indeed a strategic over-reach for a country trying to fight a Superpower and its powerful allies and not managed to make any true friends in its own neighborhood. Iran's foreign policy has been even worse than India's.
