Can you tell me how it served China's interests to bring the economy of Iran on the verge of collapse? Walk me through it please. Step by step. How did it benefit China to put sanctions on a country that its volume of trade with you had reached $30 billion dollars and was planned to surpass $50 billion dollars?

I don't think China worked to bring down Iranian economy or an UN sanctions for that matter, China considers Iran a partner esp in economy. If that's the case, China wouldn't buy 90% of Iranian export oil, that's 20% of Iran GDP, over the years under US sanctions, but you despise the act as China just being energy hungry and nothing else. Further, China wouldn't took all the initiative to have a 25 economic partner deal with Iran.

China did vote once in favor of United Nations sanctions against Iran in 2010. These sanctions, imposed by UN Security Council Resolution 1929, were aimed at pressuring Iran to halt its uranium enrichment program and address concerns about its nuclear program.

The world is lawless and isn't just black and white. No need to be idealistic about it.

China-US relationship has always been contentious. For one, China doesn't want to sour the relationship too much that its economy is hurt. For two, US always thinks China is its potential challenger and always tries to weaken its government. So, China is cultivating two tracks. One is to maintain good economic relationship with US and the other is to counter US influence elsewhere. That is why China didn't veto for Iran but also worked with Iran behind US back.

Maybe Iran is just too naive to understand the reality of international relationship. That naivety will get Iran into somewhere between a rock and a hard place.

Actually, a simpler explanation is that China can’t counter US in 2000s, but 202;0, China is more capable. China is a developing country that is becoming more developed. 20 years ago, its capabilities is very limited so it can’t counter the US. But time have changed.

We didn't choose to go down that path. It was imposed on us by our so-called friends (Russia and China). It's easy to see why Iran has no friends. We're in the Middle East where the entire region and all of our neighbors are controlled by the US either directly or indirectly. It's not really hard to see that, is it? The difference between the US imperialism and these post-communist global powers (China and Russia) is that the US allows you to prosper, even helps you prosper through USAID, sharing knowledge, technology and education with you, but then buys everyone at the highest positions in your system with money to control your country and then empties your pocket through monopolized trade.
However, these post-communist countries hinder your growth and keep you impoverished and isolated to make you depend on them. That's been their style for decades. Look at North Korea, if you don't believe me. Iranians have been smart enough not to turn into North Korea yet, while fighting the most severe sanctions.

What you’re saying is correct. However, Iran’s strategy to stay independent of Zionist influence hasn’t worked too well. We just saw internal sabotage nearly destroy the country. I still think it’s some kind of miracle that Iran survived.

I’m not suggesting a U-turn in policy. But improvement is certainly required. For one thing, too much zealotry in shoving religion down people’s throats has given Iran a very large number of people who hate Islam. Recently my niece became friends with an Iranian girl who just immigrated to Canada. She told me that this Iranian girl is very anti-Islamic. This is the sort of thing that made the Zionists think that they can topple the mullahs easily. Iran’s policies have created a large number of potential recruits for enemies.

Muslim countries in the region have different levels of US influence but many of them can be potential allies of Iran. It will be up to Iranian intelligence agencies to make sure they don’t let the Zionists buy up everyone.

One thing some people don’t seem to get:

Whatever damage Israel suffers — whether it's to military or civilian infrastructure — the Israeli government will pay for it. But in reality, that money often comes from U.S. and Western support.

But who will pay for Iran’s losses?

I truly hope Iran recovers quickly and rebuilds its infrastructure stronger than before. But going forward, Iran must learn to rely on itself.

China won’t step in — its interests are tightly aligned with Arab countries, and it has already distanced itself from Iran in recent years and kind of betrayed Iran many times in the UN.

Russia is deeply tied up with the war in Ukraine and is in no real position to provide serious military or financial backing even after the war end.

Iran needs to find a way to break out of isolation, strengthen its economy, and build a self-sustaining defense capability. Don’t expect help — the only way forward is to become strong enough to face these situations independently.

Anyway, Iran's performance was not bad enough during this war as well. They did very well during the last phase of the war when talking about offensive attacks.

I thought superpower India should flip the bill to help Iran. It’s the self proclaimed superpower that Iran believe in. But India betrayed Iran. Then, I advise your country not to deal with China and Russia, turn to US and EU for the better.
