Saddam had killed almost 200,000 Iranians and Taliban had kidnapped Iranian diplomats. It doesn't mean that Iran welcomed USA like the PG monarchs.
Both were killers of Iranians and at that time, they had zero difference with USA. Despite all the odds, Iran remained neutral and never helped USA.
Behind the scene, Iran helped Iraqi resistance and even Taliban received light weapons to fight back. Main problem was Taliban's deep connection with American Satanists such as Zbigniew Brzezisnky. Remember when he told them God is on your side on Afghan soil. Iran failed to communicate with Taliban of that time because of the same reason that Taliban was former ally of USA against the Soviets. They kidnapped Iranian diplomats as a gift to Americans.
Iraq under Saddam was completely out of reach for Iran. Years of oppression against Iraqi people made the guy politically irrelevant. Main problem was that most of Iraqis welcomed US invasion of the country except for a few groups aligned with Iran.
Both were inevitable sedition that made Iran irrelevant. But PG Arabs funded US invasion on Islamic countries.
Lots of contradictions but a fair Iranian point of view.
Conquering Iraq or regime change in Iraq was impossible without Irans assistance for the USA. The convergence of strategic interests for Iran with USA in Iraq and Afghanistan was a marriage of convenience that can be replicated against Iran as easily.
It would be a futile attempt to discuss Iraqi welcome to the US specially given recent Iranian political chaos.
Iran must look towards building bridges rather than burning them with callous measures.
