I must say that I am impressed with Israeli AD. I thought they were only good against Hamas rockets, but I was wrong.

they had US + UK + France + Jordan helping them

and many days to prepare

and this was just initial salvo

so overall I am not overly impressed, the Iranian strike was actually much more successful than I thought and now it's clear subsequent strikes will be even more successful

If even a single drone managed to reach Israel from Iran then it's a massive failure for the US.

The explosion that occurs is precisely from the Iranian missile. The impact is kinetic because the Arrow 3 does not carry a warhead.

Most countries with decent militaries today have capable air-defenses. Its completely normal to intercept incoming missiles. But the thing is can you intercept all missiles?? No! Secondly, if incoming projectiles are non-stop you will soon run out of your most expensive air-defense missiles. The strike has only confirmed one thing that Israel is not invincible, it can be badly crushed if attacked properly.

Israeli's will make US do the fighting. They lack logistical capability. They can do few stand off strikes from over Iraqi air space or from their Navy but not much more.

Fair point, but at this point Israel has decided it already wants to expand into Lebanon to deal a decisive blow to Hezbollah. So, what happens next is anyone's guess.

Hezbullah is far more organized and strong than it was back in 2006, and a full action from them with another Iran's major strike will overwhelm Israel's Air defense, the major advantage for Hez will be their close proximity from their Israel's targets, the AD might not have enough time to react or intercept and on top of that major land incursions from multiple directly will put pressure on Israel, I think they are betting on US intervention because since oct 7 the Israel has get away with everything with US help, whether its in the form on Munition supply or Veto'ing the UN resolution.

Israel has 4 layers of BMD "Ballistic Missile Defence" as part of its homeland defense system. This includes Sling, Arrow, Patriot II, C-Dome, Iron Done and Iron Beam.
