They just need to cover western Iran and parts of Iraq where Israelis are shooting ALBMs from. But 20-30 is still not enough and they won’t last long without the rest of the infrastructure we don’t have

How will they cover that airspace when they're outnumbered by F-35s supported by awacs that they can't get close enough to detect without being fired on? Even before that, how will they survive on the ground when Iran can't detect incoming attacks anyways? These will be the first targets for said albm attacks.

One squadron of 20-30 cannot cover a nation the size of eastern europe. Plus you act like these won't be high priority targets to be destroyed on the ground.

At what range can it detect a low rcs aircraft like an F-35? And is that range higher than the range of an Aim-120? If not, then it's useless.

It is a simple problem, can an Su-35 lock and launch on an F-35 first or the other way around?

Su35 are not just fighters. Are multirole fighters.

With them you can take off from any small airport inside Irán and hit land target using glide bombs or shoot down any helicopter patrolling the Straits happily as we have seen two days ago. Even with AEW coverage, those fighters can fly behind the mountains Kuh-e genu and surprise any aircraft patrolling SoH from a long distance.

You're mixing air superiority, that requires a dozen of squadron and other assets like AEW aircrafts and tankers with the tactical flexibility of having modern fighters. You have witness the utility of using some dozens of aircrafts like Ukraine does with their Mig29 fleet.

Remember also that F35 need to be close to Su35, which flies faster, higher altitude and can much easier outmatch the AIM120 amraams because they have a non scape zone smaller when used with faster aircrafts like Su35.

So even flying a F35 is not that easy to shoot down a Su35.

You are absolutely correct. The Su-30/35s are set to replace the F-4Es of the Tactical fighter squadrons in Tabriz and Hamedan, not the F-14 Squadrons in Isfahan.
