Japan didn’t start anything either. It was a pre-emptive strike (like many Armchair generals on here boast Iran should do). It was because U.S. placed an embargo/sanctions on gasoline to Japan. This economic warfare made it hard for Japan’s economy and military to function as it’s an island economy with little natural energy resources.

I don't agree. Obviously the japanese attack came from any reason. But Japan was invading Manchuria (Manchukuo they called) and was a member of the Axis with Germany and Italy. So US did an embargo because good reasons.

At this point you can see how Irán is acting wisely. In a similar embargo Irán always respond to Israeli or US attacks. And that position It is a delibered strategy not a weak signal.

In the UN (or the rest of It) and in front of other actors (Latín American, the rest of Asia and in EU) this is working good. No one can say that Irán it is a trouble in the región. All focus are over the far right Netanyahu's cabinet and himself. And even if EU and other western countries will never normalize ties with Irán. Islamic Repubic won 80% of world sympathies.
