nearly 2500 years of monarchy, but our history in the region is closer to 5000 yrs old. Iran is considered by many scholars to be the oldest country in the world. You often hear about the Greeks being the cradle of civilization, but that's false....the Iranian plateau is the cradle of civilization.
If you consider the word Iranic then yes, our Zagrosian neolithic agricultural people created fertile crescent in Iranic plateau stretching into Anatolia and Caspian-Pontic steppe, they created Indus Valley mixing with AASI women there. Our nation (Iran) got created in its current form with Elam-Medes transition period some 3000 years ago though. Amusingly for geneticists, 95% of our genome never changed from that time except the inclusion of us Turkics in the society (roughly 20%).
