If they start to build the industrial and technical infrastructure needed to be a nuclear-threshold state like Iran, it will take them 5-10 years with outside help. Nuclear weapon use may well regularised with an attack on Iran, followed by a Russian attack on Ukraine. Russia won't get anywhere near the UK as the UK as a nuclear deterrence.
