PS - dont be suprised if they decide to invade Lebanon directly head on - but go through the Golan Heights and then Syrian terrority in an Arc to trap the lebanenese resistence in a vice .... I suspect they may do that, as the resistence has to much extent prepared for a frontal assault, but not a pincer move via Syria ...

ridiculous scenario

Israeli troops will not enter Syria proper, especially not so close to Damascus, or they will be targeted in Syria
 
IDF troops will be eaten alive on foot in Syria and Lebanon facing very experienced and trained fighters that doesn't care of dying, this is like putting a pitbull against a chihuahua in a dog fight

They rely all of that to their air force to do maximum civilian casualties as it is the n1 part of their strategy, leveling all civilian infrastructures, killing the maximum of people with 1ton bombs in the middle of a city and claim that all the deaths are "terrorists", this is their Gaza M.O
 
Two dead and 24 injured, including 5 in very critical condition and 3 in serious condition, after being targeted by a drone and missile from Lebanon. The event is very difficult and there is a lot of secrecy about it.

Iran is not a friend of Russia like Syria where it has security guarantees with military bases, there are no Russian or Chinese military base in Iran neither Lebanon

Lebanon will need to pay Russia with something, the economic situation is terrible in Lebanon, one of the worst in the world, Iran also doesn't have funds and cannot say "Hey Russians we want you in Lebanon to support Hezbollah", Russia will never accept as it would paint them as "terrorist helpers" on the world scene, Iran doesn't have liquidity and the prominent "paying" resource used is crude and gas

But a scenario where the Lebanese government and not Hezbollah would ask for Russian assistance in case of threats of carpet bombing, i doubt it would happen but it happened in Syria when Asad was being threatened of the destruction of his country and turning it into a parking lot by ISIS and NATO coalition with 2ton bombs

Iran is enough stronger toe ven not consider Russia guarantees. Iran cannot be destroyed just a bit damaged conventionally.

I suspect Iran has done the nuclear homeworks and has the nuclear bombs and missiles, by the hundreds if not thousands. I suspect they have done the duties.

The ball is in israeli court related to lebanese events in the north, if i would be an adviser for US, i would advise Israel not to touch Lebanon so tough.

Israeli troops are not a difference in the south, they will be killed as rabbits, there would be a lot of deaths, casualities, even hijacked troops. Hezbollah can enter the north too and make the war deep in Israel. Hezbollah will also use better guided missiles, with major payload and air defence system will be unveiled.

Iran also sounds prepared to interven if US does, this is the reason of recent message from iranians to the US, to clarify positions, iranian official position. Iran stands for Lebanon.

And US and Israel will have lucky if other arab parties not intervene also. There are possibilities i am not going to discard.

Region is tired and angry on Israel. US must be aware of this.

At some point, the Lebanon goverment and Army have to get involved to protect their country, their people and their infrastructure. Israel will not hold back, so why does the Lebanese Army ?

Israel will hold back, they will be forced to hold back, i mean.

And about Lebanon government, allow me to laugh hard, they are a hard joke, lebanese government must not have any authority at all, and must leave to France and have their style of life if they want. THey will not decide anything on Lebanon stance.

Lebanon is not france, and not the swiss from south western asia.

What i can say is that this is not the UN resolution 1701 that will protected Lebanon from being carpet bombed
