On the front, yes, you are right, idf instead of taking Beirut have all sorts of problems to take first villages on the border... But aura of powerful Hezbollah is damaged, their fierce public image is degraded...I don't agree with it. As of now Hezbollah is doing non less than the previous 2006 war and perhaps much more.
More important than frontal issues in 2006" was decisive psychological and media victory of Hezbollah... But, this is not time for crying, Hezbollah has to strike back, and to make impossible for Jewish settlers to back home in Northern Israel....
If they achieve this, and prove that Israel is non-functional country on the entire of its territory, and tens of thousands Jewish citizens cannot back into their own homes, thst will be another victory for Hezbollah... If Israel is able to take Litani river and control it with full protection, that will be decisive Israeli victory....
Everything in between of this two options is the matter of analysis from different angles...
