How has Syria not purchased 24-100 Kowsar jets w/ guided bombs and glide bombs, hundreds of Karrar tanks, dozens of Shahed-129 drones, and however many Panha 2091 attack helicopters the military required during this time? Surely they knew they were going to have to re-arm after they functionally won the war.

I know there are a lot of Iranian small-arms on the ground in Syria... but how have they not fully engaged with the Iranian military industry to fully re-arm with heavy weapons?

Iran should also be using the defense of Syria as an opportunity to test all the locally produced weapons systems, while defending an ally and defeating terrorism at the same time.

And where exactly would they get this money? Syria is broke and heavily sanctioned.

A single Kowsar cost upwards of $20M.

A single Karrar likely at least $1-2M.

Syria doesn’t have much income as the few oil fields it does have are in hands of US/Kurds.

SAA in the area gave up and ran away. Something very fishy about that. Either some SAA generals defected or the troops refused to fight for Assad.

In time we will find out why this happened.

In the meantime where is Assad’s brother and the Republican Guard? They are the most capable along with Tiger Forces.

HTS and their masters will disguise the operation under the name of overthrown dictator but I would like to know what is the opinion of the majority muslim world on this sudden attack against axis of resistance?

Makes you wonder what the hell IRGC + SAA + NDF + Allied militias were doing in Syria this whole time to lose that much territory that quickly.

Ghanni needs to answer for this since this region is under his observance. Losing so many Commanders in 2023/2024 including head of Syria in embassy attack surely played a part in this dysfunction.

Loans..... economic market access... something. With all the enemies surrounding it, Syria can't stand forever without a well equipped military. Soldiers loyal to Syria may not continue to fight without being well-equipped.

24 Kowsars... 240 million.. 250 karrar tanks, 250 million... 50 shahed-129's.. 50 million. Half a billion USD. They can afford that on a long-term loan.

Of course... that's a huge order for Iran to fulfill as well. Maybe not the 24 Kowsars or Shaheds, but that is a huge tank production order. Iran could easily deliver the Kowsar and Shahed order though.

You know ISIS took double this land in both Iraq and Syria in less time and US trained Iraqi army with lots of armor defected.

This has happened so many times.

Most blitz attacks are planned wrong:

Such as German attack on Soviets.
ISIS blitz
First Aleppo siege breaking
Napoleon expedition in Egypt and levant
Napoleon attack on Russia
