As a Shia of Pakistani and Syed descent, I’m glad Sham has gone back to the Sunnis, backed by the Turks. It was foolished to back that Alwaite murderer. I’m glad Iran opted not to get involved and let the Sunnis reclaim their lands. Had the Shias took a stance and fought the assortment of Sunnis/Wahhabis elements of the HTS, it again would’ve turned into a 2011-2017 era.
What many overlooking is the fact that the Muslim brotherhood (or parts of it) is in power right next to Israel. Additionally Turkey has expanded right up to the borders of lsrael, and they can do a lot more damage than the Iranians when the push comes to shove.
The Iranians are a spend force. They didn’t go all in like the U.S. did for its ally. I mean you literally had your territory (embassy) bombed and your top generals killed. In retaliation you decide to lob missiles but give your mortal enemies a 4 hours heads up as if Israel told you that they will strike your embassy beforehand.
Hopefully there’s a healing factor between the two warring Muslim groups and they can concentrate on the entity!
