Iranian Missiles | News and Discussions

they just showed a prototype, lets see how long until they test it or introduce it into service. likely many years out

Not many years for it into service
Turkiye's ( MSB AR-GE ) work on the YILDIRIMHAN ICBM began 10 years ago.

We have completed the certification of the missile's fuel, warhead, and liquid fuel engines

Our ministry will announce the test results soon

A 6000KM missile would be tens of millions of dollars assuming Turkey utilizing western consultants and the western supply chain to assemble this.

Where is the engine gonna come from?

Full of Turkish technology including Engine and Missile fuel ( Nitrogen Tetroxite )

The question also is, what is the purpose of this? A conventional warhead equipped 6000KM missile is kind of useless at that cost.

3.000 kg warhead ( thermobaric )
"The impact of YILDIRIMHAN ICBM is more than 10 times that of the GAZAP ( WRATH ) thermobaric munition."

Gazap’s thermobaric blast reaches 5,432°F (3,000°C) delivering near-nuclear level destruction without crossing the nuclear threshold

What about Iranian MRBMs against ıSRAEL ?
with thermobaric warhead ?

Where is the engine gonna come from? North Korea had to get ToT from Russia and years of failure with Tapeodong program.

Its rivals are Greece, Israel, and to some lesser extent Iran and Russia. Doesn’t require such a length missile to reach Greece or Israel.

Seems like Turkey may be planning to go nuclear, only reason you would want to have an 6000KM missile in your back pocket.
Turkey clearly has power projection ambitions, they want to become the dominant power in the Muslim world and Europe. Europe is going down, the vacuum of power is quite clear there. Muslims are divided and there's a lack of leadership there as well. Turkey wants to go nuclear, as Erdogan has publicly said before, and I think they will, because so far they've been able to improve their capabilities without getting labeled as a threat to world peace, something the Ayatollahs failed to do by constantly chanting Death to America and Death to Israel.

So, in essence, one should see this development as a piece of a larger puzzle, indicating their future ambitions. They may even go for nuclear triad at some point.

Not every in the world is under as much sanctions as Iran is where they can’t just invest as much as other countries or starve their people like North Korea to be fair.

I do like the look of the Turkish missile looks sleek as hell not knocking the Turks at all they have been building up their weapons program nicely but I have been on the Iran kick since the 90s during Hezbollahs kick ass days so I will look and give them their nod but I think Iran will be making thei comeback sooner than people expect they will
It's not about sanctions. It's about poor management in the Iranian system. Musalla in Tehran hasn't been built yet, after 4 decades! Building a Friday prayers space doesn't take 40 years. They have delayed the project so much that some parts of the project already require renovation. lol

The same goes for Iran's IKIA airport, Iran's Azadi Stadium, Tehran-North Expressway, Tehran's metro project after Ghalibaf left the Municipality of Tehran, etc. None of these projects require high-tech equipment that we do not have in Iran. It's all just poor mismanagement and corruption.

It’s about the sanctions a little bit and maybe just focusing on a couple of projects instead of multiple projects as well

they haven't even built a small SLV yet, they are not building a ICBM any time soon. in my opinion.
To my knowledge Delta V delivered payloads belonging Baykar to LEO.

P.S: I don't believe in this ICBM, Jet engine, Helicopter engine unveiled in SAHA Expo by MSB R&D. At very best, they have produced the compunds and that's it.

“The Iranian attacks were precise. There are no random craters indicating misses,” said Mark Cancian, a senior adviser with the CSIS and a retired Marine Corps colonel, who reviewed the Iranian images at The Post’s request.

US said Iran launched 2158 ballistic missiles during the war and if it is 30%, then Iran had an arsenal of 6500 missiles before the war and currently at 70% it might have around 4500 missiles.

I suspect Iran will have alot more than that - Iran has spent all its money on missiles as we can see.
